Clyde E. Gumbs is the Founder of
The Chrysalis Experience, L.L.C. He has an extensive background in personal and executive coaching; workshop and program
development and facilitation; organizational development consulting; strategic business development consulting; executive
management; and entrepreneurship. He is also an accomplished writer and public speaker.
Mr. Gumbs has studied many disciplines associated
with personal growth and development. During the course of his studies, he participated in numerous workshops, seminars, sessions,
classes, courses, programs and intensives. He was also trained to lead transformational courses and programs by
a company that is an international leader in facilitating personal and organizational effectiveness. In the course of these
endeavors, he discovered that he was gifted at having conversations where he could listen to people and easily “see”
what they weren’t “seeing” and “hear” what they weren’t “hearing.” Additionally,
he could very easily give them feedback that would enable them to “see” what they hadn’t been “seeing”
and “hear” what they hadn’t been “hearing.” People found that this feedback, which expanded
their awareness, had a profound impact on their personal effectiveness and their experience of fulfillment. Ultimately, he
was able to determine what it was that was at the source of his effectiveness in these conversations and was able to translate
his approach into what today is known as The Chrysalis Experience.
During his quest for self-discovery and self-actualization,
Mr. Gumbs uncovered and unleashed his passion for writing poetry and stories that people say make a lasting difference
in their lives. He has written stories, numerous poems and done numerous poetry recitations. Even those people who say they
don’t read and don’t like poetry report that they love his poems and find them to be inspirational and transformational
as well as uniquely capturing their experience of life.
Mr. Gumbs was formerly Principal of Gumbs & Associates,
a business consulting practice focused on the strategic development of start-ups, and later stage businesses.
Mr. Gumbs was also a co-founder of The Integral Group L.L.C., a real estate, construction and program management firm, that has received numerous awards and is nationally recognized
for its breakthrough work in urban neighborhood revitalization.
Previously, Mr. Gumbs had been President & Chief
Operating Officer of Advanced Consumer Marketing Corp. (“ACMC”). ACMC was recognized in 1989 by "Black Enterprise"
Magazine as the twelfth largest African-American owned Industrial/Service Company in the United States (largest in California)
and the "Black Enterprise Company of the Year." In 1990, the company was honored by the U.S. Department of Commerce as the
"Minority Supplier of the Year".
Early in his career, Mr. Gumbs served as a Vice President
and Corporate Finance Specialist of a bank on Wall Street, after having been a Staff Attorney with the Bank.
