Hello Again!
One of my greatest areas of challenge has been my professional life. For decades, I struggled with career decisions
and with disappointing career experiences. Today, I can see that my disappointments were predictable considering my
approach.
My impression was that getting a good education, discovering my aptitude, and doing work that reflected my education
and perceived aptitude was essential.
Additionally, I thought that making "enough" money was clearly the point of any job or career. How could
a person survive in our society without "enough" money?
Furthermore, it seemed that people would only respect me if I had a "good job," a "good career," and
"good credentials."
Finally, I hoped that I would enjoy my work and find it relatively easy and comfortable to do, while being
challenging enough to avoid boredom.
Clearly, there was nothing bad, wrong, or negative about using this approach and focusing on these factors; however,
it was uninspired and lacked a sense of purpose and passion.
